Weeknotes #3
Doing:
- 5:30am starts at work are not my friend - what a terrible time to be awake.
- The funeral for my friend was a beautiful affair. It was a bright, Makaru day. My friend didn't want this to be a sad affair (and the service fittingly ended with a pumping dance track), so instead I'm going to celebrate her generosity, her radiant personality and her zest for life.
- Generally enjoying time in the sun, as we transition towards Djilba. I can already see some flowers starting to bloom.
- Reflecting on the changes in my neighbourhood recently. We used to have a regular dog-park crew who would meet every afternoon at our local oval. Many of the members have now moved away, and this morning I saw another member putting their house for sale. I'm grateful for their friendship but also sad that our close-knit circle has gone away.
Playing:
- Live shows with Veils is always a treat - as an improvisational band, we never quite know the outcome, but we've played together for a while and our musical communication is wonderful. It's lovely to play with people who find the joy in listening. I also hadn't played guitar with Veils for a little while - been performing with Ableton and a MIDI keyboard instead - so it was nice to add an organic touch to proceedings.
